Startup Genome is looking for a research assistant to work with its publishing team on the Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2025. In this temporary freelance role you will work with Startup Genome’s acclaimed research team and contribute towards a report that influences policymakers and innovation agencies around the world.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Conduct secondary research into global startup ecosystems following specific criteria
- Identify the most valid and relevant information and collate a list of sources and key points to inform a dedicated web page about each ecosystem
- Draft engaging and accurate web page copy based on your research
- Track the completion of each piece of research and maintain accurate records to help ensure the success of the project
- Support communications efforts for the report, including creating social media assets
- Collaborate with a small team to ensure the project is completed successfully and in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS
- Understanding of technology, startups, and business at a broad level
- Prior experience of conducting research
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and evaluate the validity of a source
- Native or advanced English proficiency in both written and spoken communications
- Solid grasp of Google Docs and Google Sheets
- Ability to work independently
- Openness to receiving constructive feedback and making appropriate revisions
- Some understanding of data analysis is an advantage
QUICK FACTS
- Project-based, remote position of 20 hours per week from January to end of May 2025
- Flexibility in working hours, but some availability during core European business hours is required
- Reporting directly to Kelly Wolfgang, Content Manager
