We define a tech startup as an innovative or technology-driven company that was founded within the last 10 years and that has technology and/or scalability at the core of its business model. An ecosystem is defined as a cluster of startups and related entities that draw from a shared pool of resources and generally reside within a 60-mile (100-kilometer) radius of a central point in a particular region.
