Job Opening: Accounting Manager
Startup Genome is looking for an accounting manager for managing the month-end close, developing reporting tools, and ensuring that Startup Genome is in compliance with all regulatory requirements around the globe.
Startup Genome is seeking an experienced and driven Accounting Manager to join its Delhi-based finance team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the month-end close, developing reporting tools, and ensuring that Startup Genome is in compliance with all regulatory requirements around the globe.
You Will
- Take responsibility for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization
- Oversee day-to-day accounting processes (e.g. AP, AR), month-end close, and some general business administration (e.g. business licenses, receivables credit)
- Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled, yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows
- Monitor business performance with tracking tools, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports for earnings calls, management team, and rest of company
- Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, and ensure contract compliance and reporting
- Oversee financial IT systems
- Coordinate processes with accounting firm
You Have
- 5+ years of experience in corporate accounting, financial stewardship, and process improvement
- BA/BS in Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field (MAcc degree a plus)
- CA or CA eligibility (preferred)
- A strong understanding of US GAAP rules / standards, along with hands-on experience working with international businesses, governments, and/or municipalities
- A knack for solving difficult problems, probing all sources for answers
- An interest in General Management and Entrepreneurship, in addition to Accounting
