Valencia’s startup ecosystem maintains strong momentum, reinforcing its role as a dynamic innovation hub on the Mediterranean. The region had 1,700 active startups by late 2025, an 11% increase over 2024, with startups raising more than $300 million in 2025, and over 70% of startups securing investment, a notable increase in funding engagement compared with the previous year.
Alongside sustained quantitative growth, Valencia has advanced its community building and ecosystem infrastructure. Startup Valencia’s professional network expanded by 36% in 2025 to exceed 48,000 members, reflecting rising international participation as professionals from across Europe, the U.S., and other regions increasingly base innovation projects in the city.
VDS, held in October 2025, convened over 12,000 international attendees from more than 120 countries, reflecting the ecosystem’s growing global engagement. With more than 600 speakers, the event highlighted cross-border collaboration, including the renewed partnership between Startup Valencia and Estonia’s e-Residency program.
Sector-focused events have further strengthened Valencia’s innovation profile. In 2025, the Valencia Silicon Forum launched a semiconductor talent accelerator aimed at developing future technology skills, while port-linked innovation platforms supported international dialogue on logistics modernization and sustainability.
Valencia’s ecosystem is supported by a range of public-private innovation initiatives and dedicated spaces. The Terminal Hub, a 5,000 m² innovation center, recorded strong first-year performance with full occupancy of its private offices and more than 10,000 visitors, and continues to serve as a focal point for networking and ecosystem development activities.
A broad range of key players support the Valencia ecosystem. Startup Valencia connects the ecosystem globally, Invest in Valencia attracts high-quality foreign investment, Marina de Empresas accelerates startups through education and funding, IDEAS UPV fosters university entrepreneurship, KM ZERO Foundation drives food innovation, and the Valencia Silicon Cluster (VaSiC) advances semiconductor and photonics collaboration across industry and academia.
Together, these developments signal a dynamic and outward-looking ecosystem that is increasingly able to attract capital, talent, and partnerships while fostering innovation across multiple technology verticals.
