Turin is a leading innovation hub at the heart of Italy’s Piedmont region, where a strong industrial legacy converges with a rapidly-evolving technology ecosystem that attracts global founders and investors. The city’s capacity to generate high‑value innovation is underpinned by longstanding institutional support, academic excellence, and growing startup activity in Mobility, Aerospace, and Deep Tech, with AI emerging as a fast‑accelerating frontier.
Turin’s international positioning is reinforced by a portfolio of world-class sector‑focused accelerator programs. A key new addition in 2026 is VitalMatch, promoted by CDP Venture Capital and operated by Startupbootcamp and Wylab. The 13‑week program, hosted in Turin, targets Sports, Health, and Wellness and brings together leading partners including Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, and Juventus Football Club.
The launch of the Torino Talent Gateway further enhances the city’s attractiveness, offering an integrated set of free services designed to attract, welcome, and support highly-skilled professionals, startups, and innovative SMEs. Developed through a strong public–private collaboration, the initiative builds on Turin’s experience as the European Capital of Innovation 2025. The Torino Smart Gateway was unveiled during the Turin Smart Destination event, promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, and the Municipality of Turin. The event was organized as an official side event of Italian Tech Week (now Wave), one of Europe’s most influential tech conferences, whose 2025 edition was headlined by Jeff Bezos and also featured European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center expanded its international outreach through soft-landing services and European partnerships, while new investments from Neva SGR further support talent attraction and startup growth in the region. Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo strengthened Turin’s startup pipeline by doubling down on entrepreneurial education initiatives, launching the brand-new Enter Academy and introducing a Young Track within the From Zero to Startup program, operated by ESCP Business School. At the European level, Intesa Sanpaolo and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo joined forces with the Scaleup Europe Fund, the new multi‑billion‑euro late‑stage and growth fund announced by the European Commission, to back the continent’s most promising tech champions.
